A house on an island
In the Isle of Elba, just off the main, coast of the Italian riviera, this single family house was build on the area of an old granite cave. It is set against a natural granite amphitheater, with an unobstructed view towards the sea. The facades have been cladded with irregularly shaped granite stones, as most of them were taken directly from what remained of the old cave.
